Axis Student Ministry

Our youth ministry will no longer be called “youth group,” but will now be referred to as “Axis Student Ministry” for grades 7-12. An axis is a reference line or lines that all other measurements, coordinates, and sets are based on. In life, Christ is our axis; we fix all of ourselves to Him. The student ministry room in the Christian Life Center will be getting some updates in the future, and Wednesday nights will look different for students in style. We believe Axis students will become “The Image of Christ Today, in order to be the Leaders of Tomorrow.”

Axis Student Ministry will meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the CLC Youth Room and on Wednesdays following the Connections Potluck Meal. The meal is from 5:45-6:15 and students will gather at 6:15 for worship, games, study, and fun, all based around Biblical principles.

Blessing of the Backpacks

Children and youth are asked to bring their backpacks with them to First Baptist Williamsburg on Sunday, August 26, for the 11:00 AM worship service. There will be a time to dedicate and bless backpacks, the children who carry them, and the teachers that will be teaching the children this school year. Please make plans to begin the school year with an emphasis on God’s work in our children’s lives.

Football Tailgate Bash

Youth will gather for a Football tailgate Bash on Friday, August 31 at the home of the Weiss family at 6:00 pm, 1102 Main Street. Join for a time of celebration and getting ready for the big games!

Adulting 101

Learning to be an adult is hard! FBC Youth are providing opportunities this summer for youth to learn some of the essentials to living in the real world.

On Sunday, July 8, 6:30 PM in the CLC Youth Room, Kim White will discuss “Money Matters” with our teens. They will look at balancing checkbooks, understanding loans and credit cards, and how to be wise with their finances.

On Sunday, July 22, 6:30 PM in both the CLC Youth Room and in the parking lot, Larry West will take our teens under the hood of a car to understand how the vehicle works. He will also show them some basic maintenance that they can do themselves and help them understand when to go to the professional.

This Summer: Adulting 101

This Summer, youth are invited to hands-on classes in adulting! Impress your parents and friends with your extensive knowledge of some basic issues in being an adult.
