Mission Opportunities this Fall

There are several ways to be involved in missions this Fall at First Baptist.

Peace by Piece Quilting: After a summer reprieve, Peace by Piece Quilting is back at work. They meet every Tuesday at 10:00 AM in the basement of the church preparing quilts for newborns and lap quilts for those in nursing homes. You do not need to be an expert seamstress to be a part of the group. They also need people to cut fabric, iron quilt squares, design quilts, and other tasks. This is a great opportunity for socialization and service among some fantastic women. Call the church office for more information.

Hymn Sing at Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center: The Hymn Sing meets at the Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center every third Monday at 1:30 PM to sing to residents and simply take time for conversation with some amazing, gentle people at the Rehab Center. You do not need to be a great singer. What is needed are people who will take an hour to visit with the residents and make them feel remembered. Call Annasue Davis for more information.

Food Pantry: The FBC Food Pantry meets twice a month, the third Wednesday of each month at 6:00 PM and the fourth Monday of each month at 11:00 AM. We can always use help during those times. But there are other times one can help with Food Pantry. We have had several large donations made this summer and we need help sorting and shelving. This can be done anytime during office hours. Packing for Food Pantry can be done anytime during early in the week of Food Pantry. If you would like to help, call the church office (549-0280).
